Welcome to Paper. Ink. Paws.

We’re so happy to have you – as well as any furred, finned, or feathered friends – stop by. Learn about our MISSION and join us in this adventure. Click on the headers above to view the other pages – this way you can see Oliver (he is glorious!) in the banner through each click! Alternatively, scroll down to view the rest of the site.

Our mission is to increase the visibility and joy of each shelter critter visited, and aid in assisting them in finding lifelong love and a forever home. Specifically:

🐾  To highlight individual shelter animals looking for their forever homes through artistic advocacy

🐾  To celebrate each guest animal on our blog/website through documenting personalities and creating mixed media artwork from each visit

🐾   To donate profits from the art sales to the home shelter of each animal

About

I am thrilled to start a new endeavor that involves my greatest passion: ANIMALS. After 30 years of an amazingly fulfilling career, creating and teaching art, I have retired from my university position to focus on this new nonprofit entity, create art, and to linger longer in all that I love. Through visits to shelter animals available for adoption, it is my hope that we can help spread love and knowledge so that they can find a forever home. Our visit highlights will be shared in a blog, and the individual critters will be celebrated in a variety of 2D art media that will be for sale on this site. All profits from sales of art on Paper. Ink. Paws. will support our charitable activities, and our partner animal shelters.

Oliver, the dog, is my muse for many things: art, music, soaking in the sun, hikes in the hills, and he is now the inspiration for this online adventure. We found him in the Fall of 2015 when he came to us as an itty bitty from Furever Buddys in Roosevelt, Utah. THANK YOU FUREVER BUDDYS!!!  We feel like we are the luckiest dog parents in the world (most of the time!).  Just to be abundantly clear, Ollie is NOT up for adoption. He is, however, the dashing model appearing throughout our website, and he may also make the occasional appearance as a guest blogger. This venture is completely new to all of us, so we’ll just roll, romp, hike, create, and grow with it.

What we most look forward to are all the new critter and human friends we’ll meet along the way!

Our Staff includes:

Sandy: Artist, Founder, Animal Advocate
Erik: Tech Support, Treat Giver
Oliver: Studio Assistant, Good Dog, Blueshound

Each art work presented here is original and unique: it is not a reproduction or ink-jet print.  They are generally works on paper and contain a variety of media including fine-art prints (relief, etching, collagraph, monotype, etc.), drawing, painting, and other inclusions such as staples. There may be components or themes that I revisit at times because they resonate so deeply with me, or they might include fine-art print I created previously and use as a part of collage. I appreciate many forms of art and often incorporate different media, some unusual and some expected.  If you have any questions please email me and we can go into further detail on a process within specific pieces.

These images are of works I have for sale at the moment. Note that I’m still working to set up my on-line shop (both here and on Etsy). So, if you’re interested in these pieces, please send me an email at the moment… (slbrunvand@hotmail.com)
